Does a solar panel have to be placed outside to work?
I have bought a solar light for my greenhouse. Does the solar panel have to be fitted outside or can I place it inside the greenhouse. It will get masses of sun inside.

Outside. There is always some light loss inside.
this pump system works pretty good. There are a few things I’d change about it. For the first couple days I was waiting for it to start working. Even in the direct sunlight it wasn’t working. well, it seems the either in shipping for when it was assembled the outer pump housing had come apart and was wedged against the impeller making the pump not work. I didn’t want to glue this housing in place because of the fact you need to clean to pump once in a while. so, with a couple zipper ties across the face of the pump, it works great!! Another thing is that if there is much debris in the water. The tips get plugged quite easily. If they had a smaller mesh that covers the pump, would be nice. One suggestion that would be nice, is if they had a rechargeable battery in line. As soon as someone or something blocks the solar panel, it stops. On a good note. I was quite surprise how much water it does move. I’m sure my fish love it now. Very easy to set up and get working. Very little maintenance.
Outside is better, but it is not required. As long as the IR and UV rays of the sun can reach the panel,,, you are in business.
It will work in a green house, but a solar panel generates electricity from almost the entire spectrum of light from the sun, and a greenhouse by nature blocks part of that spectrum. Another consideration is heat, greenhouses can be very hot. Panels generate less electricity the more heat they are exposed to. Your best option may just be to play with it a little, try it inside and then outside.
