They work ok for 2 to 3 years and then batteries are done. Avoid the least expensive Chinese and Taiwan models. I’ve had some of those last less than a year.

solar lights, in my opinion are simply a waste of money, they break easily, they give off very little light, and the rechargable batteries need constant replacing, i had them outside my house, and they lasted about 4 months, and in the winter time battery efficiency is minimal i would go the extra mile and get real flood lights

Solar light are a waste of your hard earned money.Just go with the 12volt lighting systems and you will be better off. The cost of a nice 12 volt is a little high if you go with the metal fixtures but in the long run less down time if a bulb goes out or transformer goes out..I have had a 12 volt metal fixtures for 9 years and love them..

Solar lights work fine. Mine, from Walmart, are 3 years old and still going.

BUT solar is not for you. They don’t give off anywhere near enough lighting for your purpose. They are decoration only. You need wired lighting.

If you want lots of light, forget solar, unless you want to install solar panels on your roof, and batteries, charge controllers and all that.

Those little single lights you just poke into the ground are just token efforts.
